What counts as usage?
Each turn uses what it costs to run: the model, plus any web searches, page reads, images or transcription it needs. Short questions use a little; a full round of desk research uses more. Your remaining usage is always shown in the app.
Can I try Crux without an account?
Yes. You get 3 turns with no sign-up. Create a free account to keep your work and get some free usage to carry on.
What happens when I run out?
Your plan’s usage is spent first, then any top-up balance. When both are empty, Crux asks you to top up or change plan before the next turn. Nothing you’ve made is lost.
How do annual plans work?
You pay for 10 months and get twelve months of usage, all available from the start of the year.
How does Team work?
Your team gets its own space: projects everyone on it can work in, with who wrote what shown on every piece of work. Each editor is a seat at $49 a month, with 2 to start, and each seat adds 1.5× Starter’s usage to one pool the whole team shares. Top the pool up with $50 or $100 whenever you need to.
Can my team discuss the work in Crux?
Yes, on Team. Comment on any note, finding or persona, quote the words you mean, and @mention whoever should look. They’re told in the app, and by email when they’re mentioned. Crux reads the open comments on a piece of work before it revises it.
Who can see a team’s work?
Its editors see every project. Viewers see only the projects you publish to them, and can comment on them, so clients and stakeholders can weigh in. Viewers are free and are not seats — up to 5 for each editor.
Do top-ups need a plan?
No. Top-ups of $5 or $20 work on any account, with or without a plan.
How are payments handled?
Payments go through our billing provider. We never see or store your card number.
