Exports & snapshots
Export canvases as PNG, PDF, CSV, or JSON, and capture immutable point-in-time snapshots.
Exports
Export the current canvas from the Crux menu in the sidebar:
| Format | Availability | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | All plans | Slides, quick shares |
| Paid plans | Documents, print | |
| CSV | Paid plans | Taking table data into spreadsheets |
| JSON | Paid plans | Structured data for other tools |
Paid plans also render PNG/PDF at higher resolution (2× pixel ratio).
Snapshots
A snapshot is an immutable copy of the canvas at a moment in time (paid plans). Snapshots are useful:
- Before restructuring — take a snapshot, then rearrange freely.
- At milestones — preserve exactly what was reviewed or signed off.
- For audits — show how thinking evolved between checkpoints.
Create snapshots from the Crux menu. Snapshots don't consume AI credits.
Alternatives to exporting
If the goal is for someone to see the work rather than to embed it elsewhere, a share link is often better than an export — it stays live as the canvas evolves. See Sharing projects.
