Work with Cursor
How Crux connects to Cursor — status, setup, and how it links to Research and Experience.
Part 19 of 27 in the guide Work with your favourite tools
Status: Available
Primary MCP coding client — agents scaffold Experience, implement UI, and register code references.
Setup
- Open Settings → External sources → Build → Cursor (or Settings → Setup MCP).
- Click Add to Cursor for one-click install, or copy
mcp.jsoninto~/.cursor/mcp.json. - Sign in when prompted, then ask Cursor to build from a project/entity name.
How it fits
Crux keeps Research (evidence) and Experience (pages, features, content) linked. Cursor plugs into that loop — it does not replace the tool you already use for day-to-day work in that product.
Notes
Cursor gets the whole tool set, not just the build tools: it can capture research, ask why an entity exists, and schedule activities and to-dos onto the Plan calendar and timeline. See MCP, overlay, and the browser extension for the full read and write list.
