Codex CLI/IDE connects to Crux over MCP to implement Experience with citations.
Setup
- Open Settings → External sources → Build → Codex (or Settings → Setup MCP → Codex).
- Copy the one-command install (
codex mcp add crux --url …) or paste theconfig.tomlblock into~/.codex/config.toml. - Sign in when prompted, then work by project name.
How it fits
Crux keeps Research (evidence) and Experience (pages, features, content) linked. OpenAI Codex plugs into that loop — it does not replace the tool you already use for day-to-day work in that product.
Notes
Write scope is on by default for new grants so agents can register code tags.
